I chose a very colorful palette of colors, because I wanted to use the beautiful botanical rubs. I love the spring and summer and I was inspired by a beautiful warm sunny day in Paris. I had trouble with the rubs, because if I accidentally touched with the sheet on the already applied rubs, and I pulled it back some of the rub came off in certain places. But I love the look it gave me. An additional distressed look.

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Trio-tastic". Use 3 of something in your project.
For this card I dusted off my Gelli Plate after a very long time and it was quite dusty... This technique I've seen at a craft exhibition in the Netherlands and found it so cool that I wanted to try it for my own card. Somewhere I had heard or read that it wasn't a good idea to work with ink on your Gelli Plate because of staining, so I was very surprised when I saw this technique with Distress Ink. It takes some practice, because this take was my 6th... But I knew what I wanted, else I probably was happy with my first attempt...
This challenge asks for three of something, and I've used three different kind of Distress Products. First Distress Ink with Gelli Plate. Secondly, I used Distress Stain Spray for splashes and third I used Distress Crayon for distressing the edges.

The technique of embossing with a stencil is a new favorite of mine! The subtle look that it gives is really amazing. With different autumnal colors of Distress Ink I made the background. I did this for a second time after I had created some depth with water drops.
The cute Crazy Dog I colored with Distress Markers. It's so weird that the Vintage Photo looks different when it's wet than when it is dry. The Texture paste that I've made black with Black Soot Distress Paint, I applied with the Sunset Sunrise stencil.

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Shine Bright Like A Diamond". And we're showcasing Tim Holtz products. You don't have to use them, but if you have them, we would like to see them in your projects!
Lately I am beginning to act like a magpie, because I love shiny things more and more, same in crafting. So this challenge is right up my alley. And that also goes for Tim Holtz of course. I started with the emboss with a stencil, the Diamond Circles stencil from Simon Says Stamp. I actually prefer this subtle embossing look is much than with embossing folder look.
With different shades of blue I've colored the background: Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire and Broken China Distress Ink. Then I colored the edges with Chipped Sapphire Distress Crayon. After that I 've applied Ground Espresso Distress Ink and the look immediately changed from Delftware to vintage. With different stamps from Tim Holtz (Dapper and Urban Grunge) I stamped randomly. The effect is very cool if you don't press too hard while stamping. I then put the stencil back in place and sprayed with Perfect Pearl Mist. What a Shine is in there! Everything immediately became much lighter in color.
The Layered Dragonfly (thanks, Marzena!) is such an amazing die and the embossing folder gives it such a cool effect. I used the dragonfly with 2 of the same blue tones as the background. With Ground Espresso I've gone over the raised areas and then sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mist. Some of the steps I've repeated until I was satisfied with the result.
