Hi everyone,
A new Monday means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. It's almost Valentine's Day and therefor this week's the theme is 'Love Letters'. Will you make a card with heart? Create a journal entry about someone (or something) you love? Perhaps use vintage postage as your latest inspiration… whatever inspires you – we can’t wait to see your love letters!
This card I made for Patricia, a dear friend of mine who I met in blogland. A little while ago, it was her birthday. So it's not a Valentine's card but a birthday card. She is such a sweetheart!
I started with the collaging pieces of paper from the Printery Paper Pad collection. And colored each area I in red or pink with my Gelatos.
It was not quite how imagined it. I wanted the background color more intense, so I painted painted over them. To get more dimension and creating shading effects I used the Gelatos and the Big Pens.
For the design, I used the exclusive Big Hugs die from Simon Says Stamp. Before I cut it out I covered it with Kelly Purkey's Red Chevron Washi Tape. I'm still absolutely in love the Label Letters! Wink (as the theme is love letters...)
To join in all you need to do is make a project that fits this weeks challenge and you can be the winner of the $50 gift voucher that our amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp offers. This prize will go to a random entry. So go over to the Stamp and Show Monday Challenge blog, let the DT members inspire you and join in the fun!
Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!
Hugs,
Sandra

Gorgeous card Sandra! Love the bold and vibrant color palette! The cogs and gears add such a nice touch!
I love the bold reds. That's my favorite color! And I love how you did the "Hugs" word. At first look, it appears to be an aged metal. Very, very cool!
Gorgeous! Such a cool painted background :)

Absolutely amazing collaged background and I always love your use of vibrant colors. The other thing I admire is that so often you are creating art as gifts for your friends and loved ones. That is wonderful that you are spreading the creative joy with so many of us. You're not only brilliant, but you're also generous and that's a great thing to see!
I love the energy that I always see in your work! This really is very very beautiful! BArbarayaya

Very special Sandra! I love the way you've treated the 'Hugs' sentiment, so retro and strong. I must have a bash with those gelatos. They've worked a treat here. Jenny x

Wow Sandra! This is just a fabulous birthday card. Incredible dimensionality (is that a word?)! Anyway, I adore the colors and that chevrons. The die cut Hugs with the label letters (I just got some of these ... how cool!) are such a wonderful way to share a sentiment. Love it! -- Mary Elizabeth
such stunning depth of color! Gorgeous!
You ask - what does the color red look like! I looks like love, passion, drama and creativity. All of which you have in abundance.
See I did not get lost in a snow storm - I am old and slow!!!!!
