Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Art Journal".

It's been a while since I made an art journal spread. So fun to make one again. Although I always find larger surfaces more difficult to fill up. I wanted to use the combo Crackling Campfire with Salvaged Patina again, I really love those together. But first started building the background with different layers. As my first layer I used Collage Paper Entomology and on top of that I used all kinds of Washi Tape.

In two of the corners I used Texture Paste with Crate stencil. After the Texture Paste was dry, I applied White and Clear Gesso, and used some stamps. I started adding colors with Distress Spray Stain Crackling Campfire mixed with Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold and Salvaged Patina with Mint. To make the colors a bit more intense I used Infusion Rusty Car and A Bit Jaded.

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Art Journal".

As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from Dyan Reaveley. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

It was nice to use some supplies that I hadn't used for a while, like my art journal and Dylusions Sprays. I hadn't used them for so long that they were clogged. I put a little hand sanitizer in the cap and it worked like a miracle. No idea if it can hurt the sprays, but I'll find that out later...;)

First I applied a layer of my favorite Collage Paper (Typeset) with Soft Matte Gel. Then a few pieces from an old book, and several Washi tapes. With the Finnabair stamp I did some random stamping. And I found a retired stencil in my stash from Dyan Old School Numbers, I applied some texture with Texture Paste. When it was dry I applied a coat of White Gesso and a coat of Clear Gesso, and some Gritt-Paste.

It was finally time for color, using Vibrant Turquoise and Cut Grass Dylusions Spray, as well as Infusions Emerald Isle and Nuvo Shimmer Powder Green Parade. I did the text with Tiny Type Alpha dies and the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful die from the new release Hello Beautiful. I colored the Entomology stamps with different colors of Distress Reinkers.
