Happy Devilish Halloween card with video tutorial

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Halloween/Spooky".

Because of all my Halloween cards of the last time I had no more spooky inspiration, but fortunately with the help of teammie Marzena (thanks!) I got back my mojo and I managed to make a Halloween card yet again. And it is my favorite so far! I started to make texture with the Mixed Media set and over it I used the Halloween Collage paper. This paper is very fragile and so I've applied a coat of Clear Gesso over it. To give it even more texture, I applied Grit-Paste around the edges. With Distress Oxide Black Soot, Infusions Black Knight and Nuvo Shimmer Storm Cloud I applied a first layer with "color". Then another layer with Infusions Black Knight and Perfect Pearls Forever Red.

Smashbook day 17: Tim Holtz

Hi bloggies,

My theme today is the grunge king himself Tim Holtz! Hihihi. Because of Lein I knew of distress inkpads and decided to buy them when I started making cards and after I'd seen video's with all different techniques. I also ordered stains with it and I started working. I like the grunge and vintage look very much, and find his products are also very cool. In the past few months I have purchased quite some products of Tim (also ranger, stampers anonymous, etc.) such as 22 distress inkpads (eventually I would like them all, including the limited ones), 7 distress stains, mini mister, mister bottle, grunge board, crackle paint, Stickles, perfect pearls, archival ink blending tool, paper distresser, paint dabbers, embossing powder, non stick craft sheet, and lots of stamps. Only the embellishments are missing in my collection. Here are  the first tags and first cards that I made with distress:
  
  
I love the style and the techniques where Tim stands for and I have applied some of it for this smashbook. Love it,love it, love it!!

On the left page I used distress ink for the background, and for the tags stains and distress. The right ticket I just got yesterday. And of course I had to use it for this book immediately.



On the right page of course a picture of Tim, with his crown above his head that I've embossed. And over the photo, I did his logo of vinyl and gone over it with gun metal stickles.



Tomorrow is the last theme of my smashbook. But my smashbook isn't full yet, so when I discover something new and fun to smash, I will post a message about it.

Smashbook day 5: Hotfix and beads

It's day 5 and today I have two themes for you! How exciting! The two themes are hotfix, aka rhinestones, and beads.
I love sparkly things and when somebody introduced me to rhinestones, I was sold. At first I only used them to decorate my bags and then I made applications with it. It costs a lot of rhinestones to make a application, but it's so much fun to do. After that I started decorating t-shirt's and  soon I sparkled in my decorated clothes with matching bag:). Nowadays  I use rhinestones for decorating cards. It gives a very nice effect.

I was quite busy making and decorating bags and I wanted to make a cute hanger for  my bags, so I looked for beads and charms. Soon I had a new hobby: beading. I'm kind of a hamster when I start a new hobby, because I want lots of choices and therefor I start to hoard, lol.

 

For the Hotfix page I've used for the background three colors of distess ink. And in the background on the left I used a handwriting stamp from Tim. The letters Hotfix are made with rhinestones and in ​​the second picture it shows you how I have done that.

 
The "Beads" page I have some examples of my homemade jewerly and I use a cabinet with tiny drawers for all my beads. On the hinges I used embossing powder for the look, but also for a bit more strength. On the other side of the cabinet, I stamped the crown with Distress Ink and I brushed perfect pearls on it, put the excess pearls ​​back in the container and rubbed the remaining excess off with a cloth. Tadaaa!

The theme for tomorrow is the Cricut!
