Star Shine card with tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Star Light Star Bright".

This time not a Christmas card but a birthday card. It has become an edgy card despite the star theme. I started with mixing Texture Paste and Nuvo Mousse Black Ash together, and used it with the Slate stencil. With Nuvo Mousse Aquamarine and a blending tool I've given the background some color and made it a little water resistant. This in order to work with Infusions.

Tear up Christmas card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Tear it Up".

For this card I used nothing torn as part of the card, but as a tool for a technique. I torn a piece of paper and used that as a stencil to make layers of snow. For this I used Nuvo Mousse Pure Platinum together with a Blending Tool. Then I went over with Distress Oxide Iced Spruce. The Nuvo Mousse acts as a resist to the Distress Oxide.

Stitched Christmas card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "It's a Stitch Up".

The time for making Christmas cards has arrived, I've made this a fairly simple card. I used the Dashing Deer die as my focal point of the card. The Distress Oxides work perfect for coloring the deer, I've used Vintage Photo and Antique Linen.

Thankful card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Thanks/Thanksgiving". And this week we are showcasing Indigo Blu products, we love to see them used in your project if you have them. No worries if you don't have any.

For this Thankful card I didn't went for the standard autumn colors. But did I use the feathers that you could link to the thanksgiving turkey... :). I started with applying texture using Nuvo Mousse Aquamarine. What a beautiful color that is! Then I gave the background some color by using Distress Oxide Frayed Burlap, Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers. Because of the texture of the Mousse, I needed some extra water to spread the color around more.

Halloween Creatures card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "All Creatures Great and Small".

Tomorrow it's Halloween, just a perfect timing for a final Halloween card, the last of the season. I started with the background, and I've used Spiced Marmalade, Wilted Violet and Twisted Lemon Distress Oxide. This time I used the Oxiees with the blending tool. It gives such a nice muted effect. I've added a few extra layers with the same colors to create more intensive colores.

For the Halloween creatures, I used the spider of the Undertaker set and the owl of the Mini Halloween #3 set. I placed the owl in the frame. Because the owl stamp is bigger than the frame, I've made a mask to protect the frame. The Drip Edge is turned into some slime.

Pretty in Pink art journal with video tutorial and SSS October Card kit card

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Monochrome".

Pretty in Pink is the theme for my art journal spread. My inspiration comes from my team mate Marzena, check out her amazing project here! I started with a lot of stamping work and used my new Stamp Platform. Super cool that there is no limit to the size of the paper.
Anyway, back to business .... After all the stamping work, I've made some texture with the Bricks stencil and Texture Paste, and with the Simon Says Stamp Ring Frame die.

With Opal Magic paint Rose-Gold I've applied a base layer. After it was dry, it was time for Infusions, pink colored course: Are You Cherise and Magenta. This as a first layer with Mod Podge mixed with water. The effect was not quite as nice as I had hoped, so I quickly went on with the second layer. Are you Cherise on the top and Magenta at the bottom of the page. The middle also needed something and used a third pink color: Frankly Scarlet.

After everything was dry I started working with the Paper Dolls and the Botanical Layers. The girls got some wings and a sweet dog to keep them company. I mainly colored them with Distress Reinkers. The paper is not really suitable for that .... But I tried to make it work anyway. With Black Soot Distress Reinker I've added a lot of shadow and went over the egdes of the dolls and the dog with Black Soot Distress Crayon.
Using the Stamp Platform with the Lower Block Foam stamps and Black Soot Distress Oxide. I've used the J as a padding for the 2nd T.

In addition, I've made another card. This time with the October Cardkit of Simon Says Stamp. It's not entirely monochrome, but I close enough, rigth...?
