Starry Christmas card with video tutorial

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Stars".

I found the colors I used in the previous challenge really beautiful and thought why wouldn't I use them for all the rest of my Christmas cards (spoiler alert;)). Because I was using resin pieces, I used a piece of corrugated cardboard. With Nuvo Expanding Mousse Worn Linen (thanks Marzena) I applied it with a base layer. Then added some texture with the Glitter Glaze Fallen Snow and the Stars stencil.

Let's Sparkle Christmas card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Let's Sparkle". And we're showcasing Brutus Monroe products. So if you have any, please use them in your project(s).

December is the month of Christmas, and I really have to make my Christmas cards, the time is running out now ... So a great time to make one for this challenge. I started with Worn Linen Expanding Mousse (thanks Marzena) as a base layer. This makes your paper metallic and gives it a little bit of a resist layer. Then I used the Starry stencil (I have the STAMPtember version, but there is a full stencil of these stars) and applied the Brutus Monroe Fallen Snow Glitter Glaze with it.

Tape it Up card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Tape it Up".

Of couse I used washi tape for this tape it up challenge. As you know I rarely make a card without it. For this card I started with the Swirly Florals stencil with Texture Paste. When it was dry I applied a layer of Clear Gesso. Then I started to apply color with Metallique Paint in vertical stripes.

 

With Nuvo Shimmer Powder I started applying the colors in different layers, always a adding bit more color. First with Green Parade, then Atlantis Burst followed by Falling Leaves, and finally Storm Cloud. But I also used Infusions In The Navy. If I use this stencil with the green-blue colors, I always think find it a bit jungle-like. It has something mystical or something.

Recycle Birthday card with video tutorial

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Recycle".

Thought recycling was gonna be a difficult one, but if I look at all the things I've collected and have in my stash, I have more than I realized. For example, I always use old corrugated cardboard for my dimensional cards, and I've just bought a new jacket and saved the labels. In addition, I also had leftover metal parts of some furniture. When I saw that all the things where round, I thought that was a fun extra challenge for this card.

Thinking of You card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Thinking of You".

For this card I started with black and white washi tape in lots of different styles. I used the Dapper and Purveyor stamp sets together with the Stamp Platform to fill up some of the empty spots. I've applied a layer of Clear Gesso over it. After the gesso was dry I used a layer of Opal Magic Paint Rose Gold, this gave the black a golden glow.

 

At first I intended a monochrome look, but decided to add some color with Metallique Paints. And I used the Metallique Golden Moss Paint for the first time and what an amazing color that is. I applied it with a brush and spread it with a sprayer, and later again with a brush. Then I used the Metallique Paint Steampunk Copper and Rustic Brown in the same way. I also applied a spritz of Nuvo Sparkle Spray, but this one has silver glitter in it and didn't really match with all the gold.

 

I painted the Triplex die black, but later I thought I wanted to add some texture, and I used Nuvo Expanding Mousse (thanks Marzena!) And heated it well. After another layer of black paint I applied Metallique Wax Bronze Age and Antique Brilliance Wax Lucky Emerald. The shadow I made with a black Big Brush.
