Industrial Shaker card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Recycle".

I'm not very good at saving packaging or other things to use as recycled bits for my projecs. But luckily I had saved the packaging of Hinge Clips and immediately had the idea to make a shaker card with it. I wanted to make an industrial shaker card. And I started with Purveyor and Dapper stamp sets in the background. And also used Digits and Texture Paste for a bit more texture.

 

When the Texture Paste was dry I used Distress Oxide Spray Speckled Egg, Distress Spray Walnut Stain and Hickory Smoke. The mix of the spray stain and oxide spray is amazing and unique. After the sprays had dried, I continued with the shaker part. I cut the packaging and bent the edges and cut the opening out of the card. I glued the shaker window to the card with adhesive tape. To integrate the shaker well with the card, I colored Texture Paste with Distress Paint Black Soot, Speckle Egg and Liquid Acrylics Burnt Sienna. Then I put a few drops of Alcohol Ink Mushroom in the shaker to give it an aged look.

Green Jungle Good Luck card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Use Something Green".

For this card I was inspired by the jungle and especially the jungle like in Indiana Jones, with secret caves and hidden treasures. First, I used Toner Ink with the Renaissance and Faded Type stamps and Minc foil. It's okay if the Toner Ink doesn't stamp perfectly, it's even better, because it would be much too busy.

 

I started to build up the background with all kinds of different green colored mediums. Distress Ink Rustic Wilderness, Distress Oxide Peeled Paint, Metallique Paint Golden Moss, Nuvo Shimmer Powder Green Parade, and Infusions Emerald Isle. With the Swirly Florals stencil and Texture paste I applied some texture, and I colored it with Liquid Acrylics Avocado Green, Distress Paint Black Soot and Metallique Paint Golden Moss.

 

I gave the Garden Greens with green color here and there with Distress Crayon Twisted Citron, Antique Wax Lucky Emerald and Nuvo Shimmer Powder Green Parade.
