So much fun to have you hop over onto my blog! It's STAMPtember ™ over at Simon Says Stamp! And this week Simon Says Stamp has something fun in store for you! A BLOG HOP! If you just came from May Flaum's blog you are at the right place. If not and you're just passing by, please go to the beginning of the blog hop at Simon Says Stamp Blog. I'll see you again in just a bit!
Simon Says Stamp was founded in 2002 with an interest in exclusively selling rubber stamps. It didn’t take long until we realized we couldn’t stop there. Over the past 10 years we celebrate rubber stamping in its full glory by giving access to people around the world to a one stop shop. Rubber stamps still remain the heart of our business and we are celebrating by hosting a “STAMPtember” ™ event intended to inspire, educate, and celebrate the greatness of rubber stamping. Part of the enticement of rubber stamping is that stamps can be used in creating or complementing ANYTHING! From stamping dates on bank documents and postage parcels in the early 18th century, rubber stamping has dramatically expanded to include card making, scrapbooking, mixed media and many forms of altering and expressing art.
I'm celebrating STAMPtember ™ with this handmade tag.
It's hard to believe it's already September, or I should say STAMPtember ™! This weeks challenge is Read All About it! A while back I saw this article in our local newspaper with a story about a fellow named Toon Hein. It was about when he lived in our house during WOII. It's amazing to learn more about the history of our house. This artical was perfect for this weeks challenge!
To get the article on the tag I did the image transfer technique. I scanned the article in and mirrored it. Then I printed it out with my Laser printer. An inkjet printer will not do... To prepare the tag I used some distress ink to age it up and because distress inks react with water I put some MicroGlaze on the front and the back of the tag to make it water resistant. May has shown this technique in a video tutorial a while back. You can see it here, but please COME BACK and continue the BLOG HOP!
The letters are cut out of Kraft Core paper with my Silhouette Cameo. And sanded the edges to give them a weathered look. To adhere them I used the Xyron Sticker maker, to make them into little stickers.
We are helping kick off STAMPtember ™ festivities with a Design Team Blog Hop! You have a chance along the way to win a $25 gift certificate for hopping onto my blog where you'll leave a comment and entering our challenge! Winners will be announced at 8AM September 12.
Please hop to my teammates' blogs. Each of them has a special handmade work of art to share with you and also more prizes along the way! Enter the "Read All About It!" Challenge and be sure to put a STAMP on it and you could be the lucky winner of our GRAND PRIZE $100 Simon Shopping Spree!
Here is the list with all my teammates that are participating in the Blog Hop:
Sandra Mouwen (you're here)
Thank you so much for visiting! THE NEXT STOP in the Simon Says STAMPtember ™ Blog Hop is my lovely teammie Sarah Engels-Greer. If while hopping, you encounter a broken link, you can go back to the beginning with links to everyone who is participating in the hop.
Don't forget that you HAVE to visit all my teammates and leave a comment (so we know you've visited us) and enter your piece at Simon Says Stamp and Show to make a chance to win the amazing GRAND PRIZE $100 Simon Shopping Spree!
Good luck!
Hugs,
Sandra

Tags are such an intriguing papercraft genre... they've moved pretty far away from being tags meant to hang on a larger project, into their own ATC-like art-for-art's sake mini-projects.
