12 tags of 2014 - December

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post just before the end of the year. First of all I wanna wish you an amazing 2015! That it will be a really beautiful and creative year. I'm a few hours too late to participate with the December tag of 2014. That's okay. It's all been very hectic with the renovation and move. But it doesn't stop me to share the tag with you on New Year's Eve.

It's a variation of Tim's tag. I don't have any of the products he has used besides the manila tag and Picket Fence Distress Paint ... But that didn't stop me!

I'm going back my New Year's Eve party and wish you all the best for the new year!

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Hugs,
Sandra

I'm moving!

Hi everyone,

It's so hectic here at the moment, but it's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week is No Rules at all! Just play, play, play!

I've got moving stress, and I thought it would be a great idea to make a moving tag for family and friends to let them know when I'm moving. I used a kraft tag, because it reminds me of cardboard moving boxes. And to enhance that, I used the Distressed Textures stamps from Bo Bunny.

With Walnut Stain and the Latticework stencil I distressed the edges. On top of the washi tape I used the exclusive Arrows die of Simon Says Stamp! It is DIEcember after all!

The letters "Just Moved" are cut with the Alphanumeric die out of red cardstock and after I adhered them, I'm went over them  with the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Marker. I love that cool glittery effect!

Hot air transportation

Hi everyone,

Time really flies, where did it go?! Well, it's Monday again and it's time for a brand new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Transportation is the theme of this week. What is your favorite ride?

I would love to go on hot air balloon ride someday! Although I'm a little afraid of heights. But still, I think it's really cool to go to great heights with the wind in your hair and a stunning view. Who knows, maybe it will happen someday.

When I see this hot air balloon, I immediately think of steampunk. I can't help it.  I thought it would be a fun idea to give this card a little steampunk feel to it. But with some color in it. The background is made with Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves. Such cool rich deep colors! Since the theme of the card is steampunk, I stamped the edges with Cogs.

The hot air balloon is colored with Dylusions Vibrant Turquiose, Bubblegum Pink, Crushed Grape and Melted Chocolate. To give it some extra sparkle I applied some Heirloom Perfect Pearls Mist with a brush over it.

This sentiment is so cool and I wanted this to shine. So I stamped it with Versamark ink and applied  Heirloom Perfect Pearls powder with a brush. To secure the powder, I used hairspray. Works perfectly!

Christmas card

Hi everyone,

It's December already, can you believe it? Time flies like crazy! That means that the holiday season is just around the corner. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge it's all about Christmas cards! How far along are you with your Christmas cards? If you're not finished and you need some motivation, please join in! And for those who are done, you can also join in with fun Christmas decorations or other Christmas related projects!

This year I started a bit earlier with making my Christmas cards. It's a very big project to make lots of cards. I love making them, but I'm always very happy when they're done! Especially happy when they're done on time. I send the cards out always one month in advance when they have to go abroad, and fortunately I met that deadline!

The background is made with kraft wrapping paper from Ikea! I've cut it so that I could use it for my cards. My favorite Christmas background stamp was collecting dust (just kidding of course!), love how that stamp looks with Memento Fog on the kraft surface. Since we're talking about favorites, the 25 is my favorite Christmas die and that covered with Festive Berries Distress Glitter is so much fun.

The stitched edges I made with the Stitches stamp and I masked all corners to create a nice frame. The sentiment stamp is from Kaiser Craft. I was totally in love with that stamp when I saw it. I immediately how my Christmas card would look like.

12 tags of 2014 - November

Hi everyone,

What a super stunning tag Tim made for this month! He is a genius and once again with new techniques. A true November tag!

Unfortunately I don't have all the stuff to try all the techniques he did for this tag, but I gave it my own spin on it and that is always fun to do too!

I've discovered  he Wink of Stella Glitter Pen and I think it's totally awesome! I'll definitely use this more often! So beautiful that glitter and so easy to apply. With this pen, I've tried to mimic the shimmer of the foil sheets.

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Over the moon

Hi everyone,

A new Monday means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week is all about the moon. Perhaps you have amazing space themed stamps or you have a different idea while thinking of the moon. Share it with us! We love to see what you came up with.

I've altered the title of the challenge a bit, but the moon is still the focal point of my card, as you can see... I started with making the background blue with Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. These colors I use rarely. But perfect for a nighty sky! The School house stencil with Black Soot gave it a sort of intergalactic feel, along with the Cherish stamp with some Archival Jet Black Ink.

I made a template for the moon with the greatest of Sized Circles. I used a palette knife to apply Copper Crackle Texture Paste and waited over night to dry. Because the paste is very liquid, a halo appeared around the moon, love that! But unfortunately it also warped the paper a lot when it dried. It was a tricky task to adhere the warped base onto the card.

Ornamental

Hi everyone,

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog has a new challenge: Ornaments! It's almost the season, so maybe you're inspired to make some Christmas ornaments or Christmas rosettes. But maybe you want to have some fun with ornaments stamps. Let us know what inspired you!

This ornamental stamp is a member of my collection for a while now, and I only used it once or twice. Perfect for this challenge! I started with a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock. I made a pattern with it. Then I stamped it seven times on masking tape and cut them out. Placed them over the stamped images to ensure that the inside of the frames retain white.

Purple was the color that came to mind thinking of the background, so I created a background with Seedless Preserves. I made the edges a bit darker and the center of the card a lot lighter to adhence the center frame. To make it even more a focal point, I've applied a layer of Crackle Paint. The sentiment from Simon Says Stamp fits perfectly under the ornament, I think it was speciallys made for it!

CC3C #14

Hi everyone,

Today I want to share the tag that I made for CC3C with you! What a fun technique this is (I know, I say this every time, but it's true)! I used the last of my Crackle paint, so I have to keep in mind to get some more. This week is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

I'm loving the fall colors more and more! What a beautiful color palette. The real fall weather has finally struck in the Netherlands. Which inspired me for this tag.

Good 'ol days

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "the good 'ol days". Are you making a project inspired by the past, or maybe you have a nice old stamp that you wanna use again.

Personally, I like a lot of time worn techniques as well as grunge and Industrial effects. That reminded me of the tag that Tim Holtz had made for January 2014. That gave me the idea to use some of those techniques for an art journal page and with the same colors Tim used. So cool!

I used a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock as base and gave it a bit of color with Pumice Stone. I build some layers along the edges of the various washi tape with lots of stamps and stencils. The golden splashes are the Bronzer Color Shine. Gives just a bit extra, I think.

I'm loving this flat sort of clean art journal. I know that may sound silly, but most of my art journals are so exploded and pages sticking together that it's nice to have a clean looking art journal. I know I'm a bit mad, LOL!

12 tags of 2014 - October

Hi everyone,

Yes, this month no improvement from me, I'm just in time to participate in the 12 tags of 2014. I love Halloween and Tim made for this month a gorgeous tag in Halloween style! Happy dance!

I don't like to fussy cut and I found another way to achieve this technique. I adhered masking tape on a  piece of black cardstock passed it through the Vagabond with the Haunted Webs die. After applying the paste I removed the masking tape and got the same effect without fiddling and getting frustrated. So happy with the result.

Unfortunately I don't have the Distress Stain Sprays yet and so I used Dylusions instead. These also react nicely with water. The colors are only a lot brighter.

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Halloween Treat

Hi everyone,

It's almost time for the most spooky holiday of the year! Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog has got you covered with this weeks theme: "This is a treat"! Halloween will not be celebrated by everyone, but maybe you can be inspired by the colorful treats instead.

I was inspired by right pink candy, and I just love Neon Pink, so that's a great combination to create a page in my art journal. I started with a sheet of Neenah Solar White cardstock and the Distress Marker Spritzer and Latticework stencil to make my first layer.

Then I used washi tape to create the main composition. Around the washi tape I played with stencils and stamps to build up more dimension and interest. The Haunted Webs and Bunch of Bats dies immediately gives the pages a Halloween vibe.

No rules, just play!

Hi everyone,

This week over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, there are no rules, just play! Everything is possible, let your imagination run free. Have fun and show us your project(s)!

I'm moving and I wanted to make a planner where I can keep track what I have to do, inspiration, requested tenders etc. The important papers go into a large binder, but I wanted something handy, something I easily can take everywhere.
I started with the covers. These are canvas boards that I painted black with Charcoal Black. I really love the combination of black with neon pink and white. A touch of kraft makes it even more interesting. As base to go onto the cover I used Neenah Solor White Cardstock.

With the Distress Marker Spritzer and Simon Says Stamp Blocked Circles stencil I made the first layer. Every time I'm amazed how awesome this effect is. Especially if there is enough ink coming out of the markers .... Then it was time for some washi tapes. After some stamping I applied some black colored Embossing Paste with the Jumbled Letters for a bit of texture.

Since the background was already quite dark, I painted the letters Neon Pink and stamped on top of them with a Crackle stamp. To ensure that the planner stays in shape and everthing stays in place, I applied a layer of Multi Medium Matte on the covers.

I've created tabs with different themes in the same style as the cover, only slightly simpler and lighter.

A calendar is always useful and so is a checklist for everything I need to do. And that's a lot...
