S is for Scary card

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "S is for...".

Of course I had to come up with an S that had to do with Halloween. And fortunately that wasn't so difficult. I started with the background using the Halloween Collage Paper, and I applied Clear Gesso over it. That works better to apply color like Infusions and Nuvo Shimmer Powder. But first I used different stamps from the Undertaker to fill in the white spaces. Then I added some texture with the Bubble stencil and Texture Paste that I made black with Distress Paint Black Soot.

Halloween ATC with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "ATC's" short for Artist Trading Cards.

Yes, it's Halloween season! My favorite topic for creating projects and this week I made an ATC. I cut this out of thin corrugated cardboard, because I was going to make it dimensionally. I started with Clear Gessso, to ensure that the colors mix even more than normal. For the first layer of colors I used Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge and Black Soot. I was surprised that Spiced Marmalade and Rusty Hinge became yellowish. I really wanted to go for a deep orange with a black background, and that's why I added Infusies Orange County and Nuvo Shimmer Powder Storm Cloud.

Midsummer Blues card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Midsummer Blues".

For this card I used a lot of shades of blue, such as Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China and Faded Jeans and Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers, Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans. And of course a little brown for the vintage look, and it had to be Distress Ink Ground Espresso, my favorite brown of all time. Although this technique takes more time to give color to a complete background, I like it so much more because you are more in control than with the Distress Sprays. I don't know how to handle sprays properly, I guess. My spraying results are not pretty at all.

Simon Says Stamp Birthday card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Happy Birthday". It's our 9th anniversary of the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, and we're showcasing Simon Says Stamp exclusive products! So if you have any, please use them in your projects.

It has been 9 years since this challenge was founded! And that is reason for a birthday party! I made a grungy birthday card to celebrate. I started with Distress Oxide Spray and Distress Spray Stain. A quick way to create a background with lots of color. A bit of a messy way, but that's okay. After everything was dry I applied some shimmer with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls Spray and the Simon Says Stamp Diamon Circles stencil.
