Inspired by Finnabair card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Inspired by an Artist".

This card is inspired by Finnabair, she designs amazing products, and all very unique. The Opal Magic Paint is also really magical in my opinion. And the waxes are fabulous and smell amazing too. The colors I used aren't really Finnabair style, but also they are. I started with a stencil and Texture Paste and applied Distress Crackle Paste in the corners. After that was dry, I coated the resin and metal pieces with a layer of White Gesso.

The first layer of color are done with Metallique Paint and Opal Magic Paint. Despite the layer of gesso, the paint didn't cover the resin very well. Probably too little gesso applied. That only reinforced my idea of working with light pastel colors. The next coat was Metallic Waxes. After the first layer of waxes I found that something was still missing, so I used some brighter colors of wax and it suddenly gave it such a metallic rainbow/iridescent effect.

Frame it card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Frame it".

As the first layer for this card I used Distress Sprays, but it wasn't really interesting. So I used a few Distress Oxides and added more depth and balanced the colors. With my favorite new background stamp (Ledger Script) and Distress Archival Ink Ground Espresso I did some random stamping.

You can use the Sizzix Shaker Domes without having to punch out a hole in your card, because there is adhesive under the edge of the dome, super handy! But to finish of the edges of the dome nicely, it's more fun if you have something of a frame circle die, which I have. The My Favorite Things Circle Shaker die cutting set. This one has a pretty wide circle frame, perfect for embossing it. I used the Foundry 3D Embossing Folder for this.
