Daylight Dreams tag with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Anything But a Card".

Not a card this time, but a tag. I started with Collage Paper and Soft Matte Gel, old book paper and Washi Tape. I also used an Urban Layers element. Then I applied a layer of White Gesso with the Silicone Brush and a layer of Clear Gesso on top. If you dry it with a heat tool, it will bubble and gives a very cool textured effect. To give it even more texture I used the Stitches stencil with Texure Paste and applied Grit-Paste around the edges.

 

When everything was dry I started with adding color. Firstly Nuvo Shimmer Powder Solar Flare and Infusions Lemoncello, and also Infusions Black Knight and Nuvo Shimmer Powder Storm Cloud to darken it a bit. I gave the Paperdolls a yellow dress with Distress Crayon Fossilized Amber.

Christmas Gift tags with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Happy Holidays".

I'm not really a gift tag maker, but this time Ive got a purpose for it and made this trio of Christmas gifts. I started with Heavystock and 3 different colors of Distress: Distress Ink Weathered Wood, Speckled Egg, Distress Oxide Iced Spruce. I cut the Tree Line out of a metallic envelope, I wanted something shimmery that matched the background. Darkened the edges with Walnut Stain and applied snow with Degrade de Points stencil and Texture Paste.

 

When the Texture Paste was dry I cut the card into 3 pieces and made them into tags. Tim Holtz's Sidekick includes a cutting die set with a reinforcer and numbers. The numbers are also included in the Classic Lower Alphabet cutting die set. I provided both with Distress Ink Barn Door and Fired Brick. To add a nice focal point, I used the little deer from the Winter Wonderland, unfortunately this set is no longer available, but there are many others great deer dies available at Simon Says Stamp, like this one.
