Dreamer Art Journal Spread with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Art Journaling".

It was nice to be working in my art journal again and I applied the collage technique in my journal, but I think that is a bit more difficult on a larger surface. For this spread I went for a nighty sky vibe. I started with Botanical Collage Paper and Soft Matte Gel. After that I used tissue paper, old book paper and scraps of pattern paper and finally some washi tape. I applied a layer of white and clear gesso on top of it.

Beach Fun card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "A Day At The Beach".

This card was a lot of fun to make, I normally I love to change something from a non-Halloween thing to a Halloween thing, and really enjoyed doing it the other way around, turning something Halloweens into something non-Halloweens. Like I turned the Bat Crazy bats into seagulls.
I started withthe background and adding lots of Washi Tape in different colors and sizes. On top of that I used White Gesso and as always a layer of Clear Gesso to finish it off.

When everything was dry, I colored the Crystal Sands Texture Paste with Opal Magic Paint Yellow-Pink and used it with the Halftone stencil. It was a challenge due to the grain of the sand.
Then I added a little more color with Liquid Acrylics True Yellow and Burnt Sienna. For the air, I used Infusions A Bit Jaded and Liquid Acrylics Deep Turquoise, after first painting the top half with Opal Magic Blue Gold.
For the bottom I first applied Opal Magic Paint Yellow-Pink and then Nuvo Shimmer Powder and Infusions Golden Sands.

Party Time card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Early Birds".

Let me start with that I am not an early bird ;), but that's okay. I brought in the trusty Bird Crazy stamp set for this card. But I first started with the background. I used Botanical Collage Paper with Soft Matte Gel, but also washi tape and paper scraps to make a collaged background. I used the Clockwork stencil with Texture Paste for some texture, but since it's actually more of a mask, you can't really tell that it's about clocks. But I like the texture anyways.

Playing with Paint card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Playing with Paint".

As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from Dina Wakely. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

This time I played with Gloss Sprays from Dina Wakely for the first time. I had already seen some videos of it and how cool they mix, especially if it is on a surface that the paints can not soaki inimmediately. First started with collaging the background with Collage Paper Botanical and normal tissue paper, but also with pieces of old book paper and Washi Tape. On top of it I applied a layer of White Gesso, and then a layer of Clear Gesso. Just the way I like my Gesso ;).
