Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Sweet Treats".

I have a weakness for sweets, especially chocolate and licorice. When I think of spring and Easter, I think of pastel colors and that's why I used the new Distress color Saltwater Taffy together with Salvaged Patina and Speckled Egg. I mixed my Distress Spray Stain Salvaged Patina with Perfect Pearls Mint, which gives a subtle shimmery effect.

For the main focus point of this card I made a faux candy Faceted Heart wrapped in tin foil. I colored it with Alcohol Ink and Alloy. This was my first time working with Alloy and I had to figure out how best to get the effect I was looking for. But I think I got it.

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Recycle".

I often find the recycle challenge a bit difficult, but actually a lot is possible. I used an old Matte Wax packaging for my card. I used it as a large section and collaged around it. With lots of washi tape, old book paper and Entomology Collage Paper. After the Soft Matte Gel dried, I applied a coat of White Gesso first and then a coat of Clear Gesso.

For the colors I used Distress Paint Antique Linen, Black Soot and Metallic Paint Rustic Brown with lots of water. The collaging and heating of the Gesso had created a bit of texture and made it for a special effect after the paint had dried. To get the LOST letters neaty alligned, I made a template and used Post-IT notes.
