Box with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Inside the Box".

For this challenge I made a foam board box in which I can store all my vintage photos and paper dolls. I always like to make something out of this fabulous material. Mostly glue gun is used for adhering the parts together, but I can't really handle it properly, so I had to find an alternative. My trick for gluing foam board together is Tacky Glue in combination with 18 mm pins. They provide extra strength and help keep everything in place while the glue dies.

For decoration I used the new Dotted stencil with Texture Paste and to give this a color I used Distress Spray Stain in Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers. I also used Antique Brilliance Mystic Turquoise wax and Nuvo Mousse Pure Platinum to give it some metallic shimmer.

Another tip while working with foam board. If you want to use screws for the clasp or hinges, dip them in Tacky Glue before screwing them into the foam board. This gives them more grip and they stay in better.

Road Trip Birthday card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Road Trip".

This week I made a birthday card with the fabulous Barber Shoppe stamp set. I started with creating some texture. For that I used the Tiles stencil with Texture Paste. And to apply even more texture I used Mini Art Stones, which I pressed into the Paste while it was still wet.

After the Texture Paste was dry, I started to apply some color. I did this with Infusions and Mod Podge. The Mod Podge also ensures that the Mini Art Stones are sealed in and won't fall off. I added more color with Distress Oxide and Infusions. The car is made of Black Embossing Powder and I played around with a White Sharpie. It works on every surface, even over the Mini Art Stones.
