Dotty Travel Map Holder

Hi everyone,

A new Monday means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, this week we are looking for something dotty. As long as there some dots in your project, you're good to go. Such as polka dots, dots on washi tape, or dots in a stencil or stamp. Have fun with this dotty challenge!

A few weeks ago, I've been to London and I always like to make some useful things for my trips. Such as my travel note book that I made a few weeks back. So I wanted to make something where I can store my mapes in and I can easily access them and find the way through such a big city. But also to store the detail maps for when we come out of the subway and we know where to walk to from there.

It is never sure if it's as convenient as you think, but I must say that it was very handy indeed.
This map folder is made from the very beautiful Teresa Collins Fly Away Paper Pad. I used the corresponding washi tape with it, along with some dots washi tape. It was quite a puzzle to figure out how I wanted it. But I soon knew I wanted the maps of the underground, the bus and the overall map behind a transparency on the inside. This I adhered together with washi tape on the edges. On the front I made a place to store my metro card in. That part we didn't use. It's more handy to keep the metro card in your pocket for easy access. And on the back I made a place to hold the detail maps.

I made it a bit in the same style as I did the travel notebook. So that it matched. I made two of them and one I covered in Glue N Seal and the other I didn't... Well I can recommend to use some Glue N Seal, because else all the washi tape and other bits will come off.

Such a great idea Sandra! Maps always get damaged when they are just tossed into a bag. Love all the special details, perfect for this project. Hug!

I LOVE LONDON and more importantly, I love how you brought it to life with your project! I lived there for about a year and half and the map of the subway totally brought back fond memories (as well as being lost memories)! I really enjoyed this piece and it was a visual stunner as well as an emotional reminder of good times in this crazy busy beautiful place.

This is a great idea Sandra. It can be easy to lose your bearings in London if you are not familiar with it. You would definitely never lose your holder either as it's so dynamic and full of interest. Hugs, Jenny x
