Pink Purple Ombre card

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about Ombre. Currently ombre is a super trend in a lot of  things like hair, clothing, but also in crafting. Hero Arts has Ombre ink pads, but you can make them yourselfs now with Distress Reinkers and Distress Custum Blend ink pad.

I wanted to make a feminine card, and was in the mood for pink and purple. After watching Tim's instruction video about to the DIY Custom Blend ink pad, I chose for Spun Sugar, Picked raspberry and Dusty Concord.

I'm more of an ombre background kind of person, and not really stamping. Then I realized that stamping with a stencil makes for a beautiful backdrop and the ombre effect will come out perfectly. For this technique I chose the Bubble stencil.

It was difficult to build on such a gorgeous busy background. Have therefore chosen to remain in the same colors. The big butterfly can handle it.

Yes, I see what you mean--the background is really lively and that big butterfly is the perfect compliment. For me, this is a great example of the expression "juicy color." Love it!

It was a clever idea to use re-inkers on a stencil to make an ombre effect. Thanks for the idea. Now I HAVE to try this. Your card is amazing.
