Nature is Beautiful art journal spread with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Not a Card". So anything that's not a card is perfect for this challenge.

This week no card, so that's a good excuse to make an art journal spread instead. This week also no Halloween for this spread, but my favorite theme lately when it comes to art journaling, landscapes. This time a nature landscape. First I started to stamp the wildflowers in black and added some interest with different texture stamps to give the background more depth. To add some real texture, I used the Tiles stencil with Texture Paste. When it was dry I've applied Opal Magic Violet Green paint over it with a Silicone brush What a beautiful shimmer this paint have.

The combination of Opal Magic paint and Infusions is really so beautiful that I keep using it. The way it dries and the gloss and glimmer of the paint makes it an amazing whole. I've applied several colors of Infusions first with Mod Podge that I've mixed with water. When it was dry I've used Infusions with a Sprayer. By keeping the paper moving while drying it with a heat tool will give it that pretty cool effect.

Given the Layered Dragonfly (thanks, Marzena)  3 different colors of Distress Ink and rubbed over it with the Ground Espresso ink pad to color the embossed parts. This time I've used the spray I made of Nuvo Mousse Pure Platinum. It's really pretty how the bright colors are muted by the mousse and gives it such a lovely shimmer.

To make the Layered Dragonfly stand out more of the background, I went around it with Black Soot Distress Reinker and a water brush. This gives it a pretty shadow. The same I did with the Handwritten Love word, that I also sprayed with the spray I made out of Nuvo Mousse Pure Platinum.

This is so cool how you build your lanscape colors. I love the "stripes" of different shades making a picture of ground, grass, sky, sand... I love the texture made with the stencil which goes on my wish list. Hugs, Marzena

Wow, what amazing pages! I loved watching your video too, the background you created with all those stamps adds so much depth to the the page and I love how you used an old plastic card to add the texture paste - genius 😁. Thanks for the inspiration and I had to add the wildflower stamp set and letter labels to my wish list ...lol 😀. Wishing you a happy Friday and weekend! J 😊

This is a remarkable piece! The subtle way that you blended the colors and incorporated so many background shapes takes a lot of talent. I feel like this piece really speaks to me and I adore the way you combined the graphic elements like squares with the florals. SO beautiful!
