It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Down on the Farm".
For this challenge I had a big wooden barn/farm door as my inspiration. But only a door is a bit plain, so I decided I wanted a piece of the farm itself in the project as well, therefor I needed to make an art journal spread. I started with the wooden door. I made it with the Lumber 3D Embossing Folder. And I used 3 different shades of Distress Oxides for this: Ground Espresso, Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo. Sprayed some water of it to oxides the inks.
The walls of this farm were plastered, but over time large pieces have crumbled down and the bricks became visible. I gave the stucco color with Distress Oxide Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke and I applied some cracks with an old Crackle stamp along with Hickory Smoke Ozxide. I made the bricks with the Slate stencil and Texture Paste that I colored black with Distress Paint Black Soot. After I applied the Texture Paste, I gave it extra texture so that it looks even more like bricks.
After the Texture Paste was dry, I went over it with Distress Oxide Pumice Stone to make the bricks lighter and to make the texture stand out better. I kept the inside of the farm simple. I tried to draw it in perspective, but I'm not good at it. I'm better with stamping and building up layers of colors and stuff ... LOL!
