It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Beautiful Blooms".
For this card I chose the yarrow from the Wildflowers die set. That is my favorite flower of all the flower stamps, stencils and dies I have by far. I wanted to use soft colors for this card. First I made a background with Typeset Collage Paper, old book paper and washi tape. I gave this with two coats of White Gesso and a coat of Clear Gesso.
After the Gesso dried, I used Distress Paint Speckled Egg and White Gesso the build up the main color. After the Speckled Egg, I applied Metallic Paint Rustic Brown, also with plenty of water. The water breaks the paint about from the mica and that gives it a super cool effect.
I kept the flowers simple, they are white by themselves and I only colored the stem with Distress Oxide Peeled Paint and the edges with Distress Oxide Walnut Stain.
