Invitation to (your own) surprise party...

Hi everyone,

It was bugging me that my parents would be caught off guard with the surprise party. If you do not know what I'm talking about, see this post. My sister wasn't feeling the idea of putting our parents on the spot. And that kept me thinking. Yesterday I was talking with my friend Ellen and she came with a very good idea. She said why not just send your parents an invitation too. And that got me thinking some more and I came to the conclusion to send them an invitation saying that I planned something for them, but not telling them what. So it's still a surprise. Then they could dress up and prepair themselves for a fun afternoon. And thereby they can let it all sink in, and they don't have to respond right away.
Here is the invitation I'm going to send to my parents. Next Sunday is the party. And I'm entering
this card to Papertake Weekly Challenge, Simon Says Stamp and Show and Frilly and Funkie.

For Papertake Weekly we had to do some stitches, for SSS&S anything goes and for F&F we had to re-use 2 things, and the flowers are made from two re-used things. A page of an old dictionary which is adhered to the packaging of some frozen fish dish.

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Hugs,
Sandra

Hi Sandra this is a beautiful card/invitation. I love the colours you have used and the layout is fabulous. Is the centre piece a die cut or stamp? Nice backing paper and the buttons and flower really set it off. Take care and happy crafting.....Annie :)

Hi Annie, Thanks for your lovely comment! It's a stamp that I've cut out with my eCraft. So it's a little bit of both :).

Hugs,
Sandra

P.S. - I LOVE the Almanac line from Prima ... sooo gorgeous!! I saw the littler version today (can't remember if it was 8x8 or 6x6) and almost picked it up. Sooo gorgeous ... have you seen the Printery line? I think it's almost exactly like Almanac, but it's got more of a sage/light blue hue instead of pink. Both are so gorgeous ... I think Prima is perhaps my other favorite paper company ... :)
