It's Monday and that means there is a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. This week, it's all about the letter O!
When I think of the letter O, I think of the month of October and then Halloween isn't far away. I find it a fun holiday full of spookiness. And who knows, it will become a tradition in the Netherlands too.
For this challenge, I've created an art journal page on Watercolor paper so I could work with sprays. Watercolor paper can handle lots of liquid without warping. I started with the Leaves Mask of Simon Says Stamp, put it down on the paper and started spraying with Pure Sunshine and Squeezed Orange. The excess ink on the mask, I dapped off in the upper right corner. It would have been a waste to not use that ink.
Then I start building the layers. In the corners I have made sort of spider webs with the Shatter stencil and Gathered Twiggs. In order to bring some purple to it all, I used the Ring Cluster stencil of Simon Says Stamp to make a purple layer. With Pitch Black and Schoolhouse stencil I made some black contrast. And you know me by now, I can't go without any washi tape!

This is a cool Art Journaling page. I like the contrasts in colors used. It is very well done and is not too busy. It leaves room for imagining. I like that.
