It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Whatever the Weather". But that's not all, we're also showcasing the amazing Mr. Tim Holtz products!
Last week it was already wonderful spring weather, and I enjoyed it very much, and so I wanted to make this spring-like card. I started with the Tim Holtz Mixed Media die and cut out the honeycomb. For even more texture I chose the Tim Holtz Rays stencil together with Crackle Texture Paste. After it was dry I applied a layer of Clear Gesso.
I painted the texture of the crackle and the cut out of the honey comb yellow with Opal Magic Yellow-Pink paint. I used Nuvo Shimmer Powder Solar Flare to add more yellow and then Infusions Lemoncello. For the bottom of the card I first applied Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Peeled Paint and Broken China and then Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Green Parade and Atlantis Burst. I also used Infusions in Emerald Isle and A Bit Jaded to build up the colors and the interest.
To make the edges darker, I used Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Storm Cloud at the top left corner and then added Tim Holtz Distress Black Soot Paint mixed with water and darkened the edges with a brush. I wanted to add some glittering and I applied on the edges of the card some Bonding Powder and when it melted I rubbed Pale Gold Foil on top of it. There was too much gold to my liking and I toned it down with Tim Holtz Distress Crayon Black Soot.
