It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Art Journaling".
It's a shame that it's already Halloween this week, and that I've to wait almost a year for the next one :(. We don't celebrate Halloween here in the Netherlands, so that's why I'm sorry it's already this week, otherwise I had a nice party to look forward too... Anyway, back to the challenge, art journaling. I made a spread and of course in orange, as it's my color for this year's Halloween. You probably didn't expect anything else from me, I bet;). I first applied the Manuscript stencil texture with Texture Paste, which I colored black with Distress Paint Black Soot.
On top of that I applied a layer of Clear Gesso and started applying color. First with Infusions Orange County and Rusty Car, and then with Distress Ink Ripe Persimmon and Spiced Marmalade. Applying color to such a large surface with powders takes a while ... The heat tool had a hard time and worked overtime for sure...
I colored the spooky Paperdolls with Distress Crayons and gave them a crazy mask from the Masquerade die set. I gave the bats of the Bat Crazy die set a brown metallic luster with a little bit of Bronze Age Metallique Wax. And to give them even more dimension, I made some folds in the wings using a scoring board.
