It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Something New". We are also showcasing Darkroom Door products this week, so if you have any, it would be fun if you can use them in your project(s).
A new year has begun, 2020! I don't do new year resolutions, because I don't keep them ;). And this new year we're going to start with something new. I've used a new stencil from Darkroom Door, called Small Dots, and I've used Circle Shaker Pouches, but I haven't made any shakers ... I only used it as 3D element. I started with the background on Heavystock and played with Distress Inks and Oxides, but also with Metallique Paint, to give it a metallic shimmer, maybe an unexpected combination, right? But fun to experiment with new techniques and I like the results very much.
For the Pouches I have the single die set, and the Pouches are in 3, but you can easily cut them apart, you don't have to keep them together. I don't know how I did it, but I got really lucky that they aligned perfectly without meassuring and trying to make it fit. I just wanted them to be in a straight line. I should have turned it into a template, because I don't think I'll be this lucky the next time hahaha. I colored the bees and the ladybug with Distress Inks, and I used the Darkroom Door Small Dots stencil with Texture Paste and Metallique Paint Rustic Brown.

Gorgeous project Sandra! I love those dimensional circles and they work so well together with those stamps. Happy New Year!
I adore the grungy background, and those insects under the "magnifying glass" - just fabulous.
