It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Frame it".
I made a framed card , I cut it out of thin corrugated cardboard. But the thin dies can't get all the way through, so I cut it out with a hobby knife. I first gave the background a layer of Clear Gesso, and then added texture with Texture Paste, which I made black with Distress Paint Black Soot. It was quite bold, so while the Texture Paste was still wet, I sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder over it. And melted this with the heat tool.
This metallic effect gave me inspiration for the rest of this card. I made a spray from Liquid Acrylics Burnt Sienna and added in some dark brown metallic powder. And I used this instead of the spray bottle with water. I used Infusions for an intense color explosion, but also Nuvo Shimmer Powders Green Parade and Atlantis Burst.
I cut the wildflowers out of Blackout Kraftstock and colored it with Metallique Paint Golden Moss and Stormy Ocean and mixed them with water to make it a little more translucent. The blue color of Stormy Ocean was a little too bright, and I mixed it with Atlantis Burst and A Bit Jaded.
