Entomology Birthday card

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Insects/Birds".

Always fun when one of your favorite stamp sets fits perfectly with a challenge. The entomology stamp set with matching dies are really amazing. Also it goes fantastic with the Shaker Domes from Sizzix. The fabulous thing about those domes is that you don't have to make a hole/circle in the card, but there is an perfect adhesive layer on the bottom edge of the dome. I didn't make mine into a shaker, but it is really easy to do so with these domes. 

 

But first I started with the background like I always do. I had chosen neutral colors like Distress Oxide Antique Linen, Black Soot and Distress Oxide Spray Hickory Smoke. With a little Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold for a little sparkle. In the background I used the Entomology and Faded Type stamp set. And I cut out the moth and colored it in with Distress Ink Pumice Stone, Antique Linen, Hickory Smoke and Ground Espresso.
