New beginnings

Hi everyone,

It's April Fool's Day and are you planning some nice practical jokes?  Well it's no joke that it's Monday and Simon Says Stamp and Show has a new challenge for us. This time it's a very strict one ... Nope just kidding! It's anything goes this week! So go crazy and join in the fun!

My best friend Lein has bought a new house recently, and I wanted to make a cheerful card to congratulate her with it. Well she gets the key in a few months, but that shouldn't  spoil the fun of course!

As background I stuck Metal Foil Tape on a piece of cardstock and embossed it with the lovely Bookcovers embossing folder. Then painted it gray by mixing black and white paint. When it was dry I lightly sanded it and dabbed softly with Pool Paint Dabber over it for a bit of patina look. The little Forest Bird is so cute and made his way to the card as well. And he is so happy with his new wing of the Caged Bird die.

Of course there also need to be wooden butterflies on it. Thought it was very funny that the word "Beginings" is misspelled. But I think Lein will understand what I'm trying to say.

To join in all you need to do is make a project that fits this weeks challenge and you can be the winner of the $50 gift voucher that our amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp offers. This prize will go to a random entry. So go over to the Stamp and Show Challenge blog, let the DT members inspire you and join in the fun!

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Hugs,
Sandra

Sandra...your card for your friend is so pretty! I love how you've used the Book Covers in the background. Beautiful distressing. I love your colorful bird die cut against the distressed grey background. It really pops! That sweet little flowers and bow really pull all of your color together. I'm sure your friend will love her new house and this adorable card! <3 Candy
