Live your dream

Hi everyone,

Happy Monday! This week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show is to use a sentiment. I chose the sentiment "Don't dream your life, live your dream". When I first read this sentiment, it made me think. Because I'm a bit of a dreamer, maybe not necessarily a dreamer, actually more a thinker. I gotta stop thinking/dreaming as much and start living more. I'm working on that as we speak.

The Reflections Stamping technique is so cool. If you want to know what I'm talking about click here for watching the video on this technique.
The previous times, I've used background stamps, but this time I chose an image stamp, the hot air balloon stamp! Because I've done this technique only on tags before, I didn't realize I had to stamp it upside down when you're working with a card! Also, I didn't get a clean reflection the first time. So I stuck an extra piece of cardstock between the embossing sandwich and that worked perfectly.

Then I was time to play with colors! Before I did that, I made a mask out of an old transparency sheet for stamps and stamped on it with Archival Ink Jet Black. Let it dry for a minute or two and then cut it out nice and clean, because I needed the positive and the negative part. First I colored the background using the positive mask. Then I colored the hot air balloon using the negative.

The sentiment is made on the computer and it is a FREE font! Click here to download font if you're interested!

To join in all you need to do is make a project that fits this weeks challenge and you can be the winner of the $50 gift voucher that our amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp offers. This prize will go to a random entry. So go over to the Stamp and Show Challenge blog, let the DT members inspire you and join in the fun!

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Hugs,
Sandra

Very pretty project, Sandra. Love the texture fade you've used in the background....very lovely color, too. I so love that hot air balloon of Tim's. The twine you've added really gives great dimension to your piece; as so the little baubles. Love your sentiment, too! <3 Candy
