Sister Love card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Love is in the Air".

Do you already feel love in the air? We are approaching Valentine's Day. But I chose  for my card another kind of love. I now have all the colors of Nuvo Shimmer Powder and I wanted to work with some warm colors. But first I applied some texture with the Mosaic stencil and Texture Paste. When that was dry I used some of the newer Opal Magic Yellow Pink paint. After some random stamping with the Read to Me stamp, it was finally time for the Nuvo Shimmer Powders.

Alcohol Party card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Alcohol" Inks  or Drinks...

I rarely use Alcohol Inks for my projects, but I have quite a few. So this Alcohol challenge is perfect to break them out again. I notice that I often grab the same colors and this time is no different. I started with a sheet of Yupo and different colors Alcohol Inks. I applied them with a blending tool with Felt, but I find the hard lines with the small ones really cool, so I used a heat tool to stop the process of the Alcohol Inks wicking.

Recycle art journal spread with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Recycle Something".

I had fun making an art journal spread last week, that I've decided to make another one. I started with the background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, called Deco Diamonds. I gave it a coat of Clear Gesso. When it was dry I applied the first layer of color with Distress Oxides. Because the Oxides are on top of Gesso it reacts water really well. So with a spray bottle I created a drippage effect on the top and bottom of the page.

A Bug's Love art journal spread with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Use Something New".

It has been some time since I made an art journal spread and I thought this perfect to start with that as the beginning of the new year. First I stamped randomly with the background stamp of the Entomology set. On top of that I used  a brand new product Nuvo Expanding Mousse (thanks, Marzena!). I used it first with the Tiles stencil. I hadn't read the instructions on the package properly, and thought it would expand on its own as it dried, but it really needs heat. So when I heated it, it didn't work, so I thought I was too late. Then I used it with the Numbered stencil and immediately used the heat tool. Then I found out that it just takes a very long time before it expands, it has to be really, really, really hot. It's really cool that it becomes completely puffy as if it were foam or something.
