Recycle art journal spread with video tutorial
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Recycle Something".

I had fun making an art journal spread last week, that I've decided to make another one. I started with the background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, called Deco Diamonds. I gave it a coat of Clear Gesso. When it was dry I applied the first layer of color with Distress Oxides. Because the Oxides are on top of Gesso it reacts water really well. So with a spray bottle I created a drippage effect on the top and bottom of the page.

If I were to apply more layers that needed to be activated with water, it would be a big mess, so I used MicroGlaze all over the page. But because this is a water-repellent substance, I had to go over it with a layer of Gesso. One layer wasn't enough, so I applied another one. After that I begin playing with Infusions A Bit Jaded, Nuvo Shimmer Powder Green Parade and Atlantis. First a little in the corners, but then all over the page.

To add some texture and contrast I mixed the Texture Paste with Distress Paint Black Soot and Metallique Paint Emerald Green and applied it with the Bubble stencil. Unfortunately, you can't see the Metallique Paint in the Texture Paste ... Too bad ... Then it was time to recycle something. I had an old stamp set packaging and I cut out two "stamps" and adhered one with double-sided tape and the other one with the tiny attacher.

To join in all you need to do is make a project that fits this weeks challenge and you can be the winner of the $50 gift voucher that our amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp offers.
