Pets Corner card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Pets Corner". Show of your pets, or projects that are inspired of your pets.

Unfortunately I don't have pets. I work too much so I'm not able to give enough attention. But I would like a little dog, and this Crazy Dog would be perfect. I started with a layer of Grit-Paste for the background of the card. While it was drying I continued coloring the Crazy Dog. The main color I used was Pumice Stone, a brownish gray color. The eyes I've given some dimension with Glossy Accents.
 

When the Grit-Paste was dry I applied in some places Opal Magic Blue-Gold paint with a Mixed Media Silicone Brush. I then grabbed for my new addiction: Infusions .... I started with Royal Blood with Mod Pogde that I diluted with water. Then a little The Sage, and finally around the edges Black Knight. This I've dried the Heat Tool. When it was all dry I've Royal Blood and Black Knight and sprayed that with water. That makes it even more intense.

Spread Your Wings Birthday card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Spread Your Wings".



Oh yes, I'm still under the spell of Infusions. For the background I used Crackle Paste, it's a bit older and was somewhat dry, but a little bit of water and mix it well does wonders. And luckily it hasn't any effect on the crackle. I used it with the Simon Says Stamp Large Dots stencil. After everything was dry I applied Opal Magic Blue Gold paint with the Mixed Media Brush, but I didn't cover everything and didn't apply it evenly.

 

With different colors Infusions and a mixture of Mod Podge and water, I gave the background more color. After everything was dry I applied some more Infusions and made other layers with sprayer water on it. The Magic Opal paint gives such a cool effect, even if you go over it with Mod Pogde and Infusions.

 

Unfortunately I had troubles with my camera again... No fun! But luckily only the last few minutes are missing, and in that time I applied the Droplets with Tacky Glue and stamped the sentiment and adhered it to my card.

Chill Out Birthday Invitation with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Chill out".



This time I made invitations to my birthday. Last weekend I celebrated it with friends and it was very fun and chill. I always like to send an invitation to invite them to my party. I started with embossing the background with the Ringer stencil. With four different shades of green: Mowed Lawn, Lucky Clover, Peeled Paint and Pine Needles Distress Ink I gave background spme color. And finished with Ground Espresso. That gives it such a different effect.

 

The Pointed Feathers die is retired, but Simon Says Stamp has another cool feathers die like: Feathers Craft. For this card I added an extra layer of cardstock and I have also stamped the edges of the card and doodled around on the second layer. This way it seem like the card has even more layers.

Be Square Thank you card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Be Square".

I adore the Infusions Stains, but I have to admit this is my second attempt. The first one had become a muddy mess. Sometimes it doesn't goes they way I thought it would... What works best for me, is first apply a base coat with a paint, in this case Opal Magic Rose Gold paint, and then apply the Infusions with a mix of Mod Podge and water. If all that is dry I use Infusions with water. It doesn't stain as much because of the first layer of paint. The Opal Magic gives it  a sort of golden shimmer in some places. Love that effect!

 
The droplets are also a new love of mine. Those little embellishments are the perfect touch and thet really look like water droplets. I use Tacky Glue to adhere with them, it dries transparent.The Flamingo die (thanks Marzena!) is designed by Kelly Purkey several years ago for STAMPtember. Unfortunately, it's no longer available, but Simon Says Stamp has other beautiful Flamingo similar dies, like this one from Echo Park. I started with a white flamingo die cut, and tried to color it. But that was a big fiasco (and have it cut out of the video, LOL) so I covered it up with a lot of black paint with a dabber top. This made the texture which fits perfectly, they look like feathers to me. It even worked out well with the beak. So happy with this lucky coincidence.

A Fresh Start card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new ! This week it's all about "Start afresh". It is 2017! Best wishes for this new year, may it be a year full of creativity! This year we also start with a fresh start at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. Use something just out of the package, like a product that you've never used. We showcasing great products Cara Belle this week.



I started with Infusions of PaperArtsy. It's fresh out of the package and a new product for me and so I started experimenting with it. First, I applied a layer of Mod Podge that I'd diluted with water. I used three different colors of Infusions: A Bit Jaded, Golden Sands and Black Knight. When the Mod Podge has dried Infusions are permanent and don't react with water anymore. Without ruining my background I could apply a layer of Black Knight with water.

  

With the Mixed Media Strips stamp from Cara Belle and Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink (all new out of the packaging), I created more depth. The edges I distressed with Black Soot Distress Crayon. During this step something went wrong with my camera and the last part wasn't recorded. But fortunately I was almost done. I just added the Birthday die cut from Celebration Words (thanks Cathie) Label Letter stickers and the droplets. As for my video it's not a good start for this new year ...
