Spring Butterfly Bricks card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Easter/Spring".

Tthis weekend it will be Easter, can you believe it? Hopefully the warm spring weather will follow soon, because I am really done with the dark cold days. I wanted to use the Brickwork 3D embossing folder for this card. I have had this folder for a while and I saw great results everywhere, but I was unable to make something beautiful with it. Recently I saw this tutorial from Stacy Hutchinson which I followed for the most part with some tweaks and additions here and there. Thank you Stacy for the amazing tutorial!

After I finished with the Brickwork, I started with the amazing Perspective butterfly. That's one of my favorite stamps and amazing for coloring. I'm not a star with coloring, but this stamp makes that very easy. I made the bricks very grungy and I thought it was cool to work with pastel colors and I chose Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, Cracked Pistachio and Speckled Egg.

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Whatever the Weather".

It is officially spring, but unfortunately the weather is playing along. But for this challenge I made a sunny card, because I am so ready for spring. It is my favorite season! First I did some stamping with Dear to Dream stamp set and also with the Faded Type stamp set. Of course I had to use some washi tape. After a coat of White and Clear Gesso I applied Texture Paste with the Rays stencil. After the Texture Paste was dry, I started adding color. First Liquid Acrylics True Yellow with Nuvo Shimmer Powder Solar Flare.

For the bottom, I wanted to add some crazy texture and used Lava Paste. Unfortunately, they no longer carry it at Simon Says Stamp, but Nuvo Expanding Mousse is a great alternative that gives a similar effect. After I finished with the Lava Paste, I applied Liquid Acrylics Avocado Green and also Nuvo Shimmer Powder Green Parade to it.
