Love Music card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Inspired by Music".

I love music, although I don't listen to it much. I just don't take the time for it.
I started with Distress Ink Festive Berries, and I don't know what happened to my inkpad, but it looks very strange now. I haven't used for a while .... I think I'll contact Ranger about it, they have an awesome customer service. Anyway, back to the card. Because the ink of the Festive Berries was so weird, it stayed wet for a longer time and worked differently with other colors when blended together.

Framed card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Frame it".

I made a framed card , I cut it out of thin corrugated cardboard. But the thin dies can't get all the way through, so I cut it out with a hobby knife. I first gave the background a layer of Clear Gesso, and then added texture with Texture Paste, which I made black with Distress Paint Black Soot. It was quite bold, so while the Texture Paste was still wet, I sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder over it. And melted this with the heat tool.

Crackled Heart card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Crack it up".

This week is Valentine's Day and I was inspired by it while making this birthday card. First I started with the Grime stencil with Crackle Texture Paste. And then I used Crystal Sand Texture Paste a bit around the corners. This paste is very moist and difficult to apply, but I still have to find the first sand-like paste that is easy to apply. Often it's either too moist or too dry. It's just not sticking to the surface enough or not spreading the way I want... Maybe I just need to practice more, LOL!

After all of texture was dry, I started working with Liquid Acrylics. It's the first time that I've used these and I find them really cool, especially as the first layer of color, they are permanent when they dry up, but they behave like stains when they're still wet. After the first layers of Liquid Acrylics, I continued building up layers with Infusions and Shimmer Powder. I made a spray from the Carmine Liquid Acrylic, added Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls and sprayed it over the Faceted Heart Icut out of red cardstock. Then I darkened the edges with Distress Ink Black Soot and added some Shimmer Powder Solar Flare. As a final layer I used Rock Candy Distress Paint on the heart. That gave it a glossy crackled effect.

Floral Frenzy card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Floral Frenzy". And as it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from Prima Marketing.
You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

My favorite season is spring, and I can't wait until it starts, and when I think of Floral Frenzy, I think of spring. Because it's still winter, I've taken it easy with the bright colors, and made a grungy version of it. I started with heavystock and a lot of different mediums like, Distress Ink, Distress Oxide, Nuvo Shimmer Powders, Infusions and Prima Marketing Metallique paint to build up my background. The first layer did not look good at all, but by building up several layers it becomes more and more beautiful, thankfully.... LOL!
