Explore tag with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Not a Card".

The theme of my tag is explore. Not in the traditional sense of the word, but in these times, there is plenty to explore. New ways of interacting with each other, keeping ourselves busy, etc.
I started with the Collage Paper Typeset and adhered it with Soft Matte Gel, along with all kinds of scraps I still had from a previous project and had saved together in a bag. Such as Pattern Paper, a page from an old book, Matte Wax packaging and lace. After also applying some Washi Tape, I first gave it a coat White Gesso and then another layer of Clear Gesso.

Scenic Route art journal spread with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Create a Scene".

I was in the mood for an art journal spread, that's perfect to create a scene. I was inspired by a few live shows for this project, as there are so many at the moment, and I'm loving it. The art journal was inspired on Finnabair Youtube live and on Tim Holtz Facebook live. I placed a big order after seeing those.

Emerald city card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "E is for...".

E is for Emerald, I think this is such an amazing color. To me, Emerald is a dark green with a blackish undertone. I'm especially inspired by Tim Holtz's Facebook Lives every Saturday, and theTypeset collage paper is a great base to start with. I thought it was a bit too intense, so I used White Gesso to lighten it up. In one of the corners I used the Mixed Media Lattice and on the other I used the Latticework stencil. Unfortunately I don't have Embossing Glaze and still wanted to create a bit of the effect and so I used Texture Paste Transparent Gloss that I colored with a drop of Distress Reinker Pine Needles. It doesn't give it the same effect as the Embossing Glaze, but I like it also

Texture card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Add Some Texture".

As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from Stamperia. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

For the background of this card I used Distress Inks, Oxide, Metallique Paint and Infusions. I think it is such a cool technique to build a background. Especially with different types of media at the same time. Like the metallic of the paint and the intensity of the Infusions gives it such a fabulous effect.

After the background was done I started using the Stamperia Cosmos Astrology and Numbers stencil to apply some texture. I did this with Texture Paste, my go to medium for texture. I made this blue with Metallique Paint Stormy Ocean and Infusions In The Navy. I put so much Metallique Paint in it that it became a bit metallic. I applied some shade to the edges of the numbers using Distress Reinker Black Soot to create even more texture.
