All Loved Up card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "All Loved up".

It is almost Valentine's Day, so it's about love this week. I chose for a grungy card with a masculine feel. First I used Heavystock with the Crackle 3D Embossing Folder. What are those embossing folders amazing. With 3 different shades of Distress Inks I colored the background. I made the edges darker with Distress Crayon Black Soot and I also added foil to the edges in Pale Gold and Pewter. After I applied the washi tape, I put it through the Vagabond again with the Crackle embossing folder.

Home Decor piece with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Home Decor".

This one was a challenge for me, I'm more into making cards and art journal spreads. But I really enjoyed myself creating this piece, and it gets a nice new home at a good friend of mine. I started with a layer of Opal Magic Paint Blue-Gold. Because the Cathedral Window is made out of a somewhat darker material, it became a golden color. I applied Texture Crackle Paste over it with a brush, and tried to spread it out so it I would get nice crackles. And I'm really pleased with them. Because the surface was golden, you could see it a bit between the crackles.

Rusty Heart card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Rusty".

Have you also seen the Facebook live episodes from Tim on Facebook? I don't have any of the new products yet, but I was completely inspired to make a grunge birthday card. My wishlist is already full, but can always be fuller, so Tim, bring on the next 3 days of releases ;). I started with Heavystock as my background and used the same technique as last week,  using Distress Inks and Oxides together with Metallique Paint. This time I used multiple colors of Metallique Paints. And I added it after I sprayed the inks with water. This makes it that it mixes more and give it a more subtle effect.

Something New card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Something New". We are also showcasing Darkroom Door products this week, so if you have any, it would be fun if you can use them in your project(s).

A new year has begun, 2020! I don't do new year resolutions, because I don't keep them ;). And this new year we're going to start with something new. I've used a new stencil from Darkroom Door, called Small Dots, and I've used Circle Shaker Pouches, but I haven't made any shakers ... I only used it as 3D element. I started with the background on Heavystock and played with Distress Inks and Oxides, but also with Metallique Paint, to give it a metallic shimmer, maybe an unexpected combination, right? But fun to experiment with new techniques and I like the results very much.

For the Pouches I have the single die set, and the Pouches are in 3, but you can easily cut them apart, you don't have to keep them together. I don't know how I did it, but I got really lucky that they aligned perfectly without meassuring and trying to make it fit. I just wanted them to be in a straight line. I should have turned it into a template, because I don't think I'll be this lucky the next time hahaha. I colored the bees and the ladybug with Distress Inks, and I used the Darkroom Door Small Dots stencil with Texture Paste and Metallique Paint Rustic Brown.
