Rusty Heart card with video tutorial
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Rusty".

Have you also seen the Facebook live episodes from Tim on Facebook? I don't have any of the new products yet, but I was completely inspired to make a grunge birthday card. My wishlist is already full, but can always be fuller, so Tim, bring on the next 3 days of releases ;). I started with Heavystock as my background and used the same technique as last week,  using Distress Inks and Oxides together with Metallique Paint. This time I used multiple colors of Metallique Paints. And I added it after I sprayed the inks with water. This makes it that it mixes more and give it a more subtle effect.

After applying several layers and drying, I also applied Distress Ink and Oxide with the blending tool. I wanted it to be much darker and so I used Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso. Then it was time to get started with the Faceted Heart. I cut it out of Distress cardstock Broken China. On all the edges I used Distress Oxide Vintage Photo, so it already had a bit of a rusty look. But I wanted to take this to the next level and for that I used Lava Paste, which is a very liquid paste which you only have to apply a little bit of and when it is heated it expands like crazy. In hindsight I should have colored the Lava Paste in advance, it would have been so much easier than coloring it afterwards. To give the white paste the color of rust, I used Metallique Waxen and Paints, Distress Oxides and Paints.
