Making a memory book

Hi everyone,

Monday means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week's theme is: "Make a plan." Do you have a planner where you're creative in? Or maybe a project in which you share your plans. Join in and share it with us.

I made an art journal spread to motivate myself to make a memory planner. It's basicly a diary but then with pictures and embellished. It already worked! I'll show you a few pictures of my memory planner at the end of this post.

Personally, I don't take pictures at all, only on trips or something. It's so easy to take them with our smartphones these days (I sound just plain old saying this, haha) and yet I don't take the time often enough to make one. It's something I need to work on. That's why I took a selfie for the occasion.

First I started with the background, stamping actually. For this I used some planner-ish stamps, like Captured from Bo Bunny and DIY Date from Simple Stories. I've stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink twice, so the first one is black and the second one is the lighter one, the ghost image. This gives it a playful effect. To bring a little color in I chose Neon Pink and Picked Raspberry. I'm so happy with the new Hickory Smoke color. This actually goes with anything, love it!

Here are some pages of my new planner. It's actually a notebook I bought and made it into my own memory planner. It holds 160 pages, so just a good 5 months. It got me to January 1st! Need to think of something for next year... I embellished the whole planner in advance, so I only have to write what happed that day and add a picture.

This is such a great concept and I loved seeing the "frames" you made for you pages-- just ready to fill with good stuff! I also thought that picture of you was fabulous and really liked the detail you added of the pink shirt! Very clever and filled with fun elements, as always!
