Movie night! with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means it's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. I came up with the challenge for this week: "Ticket, please!". From airline tickets to bus tickets, from movie tickets to concert tickets and from die cuts tickets to stamp tickets. Let's see your tickets, please!

Almost every week I go to the movies (I have a membership for 5 years now) and if I had kept all the tickets, I could cover up a large portion of a wall, for sure. This gave me an idea for my tag this week.
In this video (my first one ever!) you can see the whole process. Well, almost the whole process. Something went wrong in the end with recording and the last part didn't record...

The Walnut Stain Distess Ink pad was just re-inked early that day. That caused for the strange blending while I was making the background. With the ticket stamp from the Curiosity possibilty I stamped a random pattern. With the Numbered stencil and Pistachio Cracked Paint Distress I added a lighter color. I needed a touch of bright color against the dark background.

Before I die cut the letters I applied some dots with Cracked Pistachio Distress Paint and the Dot Fade stencil. I wanted to give them the marquee look. I went over the dots with a White Sharpie pen and with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush I went over the whole letters.

I wanted more film ribbon at the top of the tag. So I stamped with StazOn the Bo Bunny Film Ribbon onto a piece of transparency. When I had cut it out I heated it with a heattool till it became soft (it kind of melts). You must be very careful, because when it's soft, it's also very hot! Using tweezers, I managed to get it through the hole of the tag and I played with it till I was pleased with the shape.

Beautiful rich colors! I love the pop of the pistachio against the darker colors. That filmstrip ribbon on top is brilliant and an idea I will save for future use as it looks so cool!

Hi Sannie,

Your ticket is so imaginative and screams "creative!" I like the vintage/shabby feel to it.

I love how this turned out! So full of beautiful layers and textures. I especially liked how you looped the movie ribbon through the top of the tag. Clever, clever girl!

What die cut are you using for letters? I apologize if I missed that info someplace else. Can you tell me the size of the letter also> Thanks Love this tag

Hi Sheila, thanks for the nice comment. It's the Tim Holtz Word Play die from sizzix. The letters are various fonts and therefor are different in height. The vary between 1 and 1,5 inch. Hugs, Sandra
