It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Rainbows". We are also showcasing Tim Holtz products this week. We would love to see those in your project if you have them.
So glad I got my Oxide Distress Inks in time to use for this Tim Holtz Rainbow challenge. It's my first attempt with these inks and I'm so happy with them. It's so cool that they can be layered without getting mud and even light colors on a dark background is possible. So cool. For my background, I've used eight different oxide Inks, I think that my new record of number inks used in a project!
I had also fun using other Tim Holtz products like the new Foam stamps. I need to experiment more with them. I expect they would work well with Oxide Distress Inks too. Another awesome product of Tim I used for my project is the Cityscape Skyline die. Totally happy with this one. Perfect for the theme I had in mind.
I also have used non Tim Holtz products, like Prima Marketing Wax. These smell very delicious! This brings an smile to my face for sure. I used two different kinds: Bronze Age Metallique Wax Vintage Silk Magic Opal Wax. This I applied to the Skyline. Such cool stuff.

OMG! LOOOOOVE this! I loved even the first touch of Oxides you did. Each next of them was even more beautiful. It's hard to stop it, right? I absolutely adore how you built the background with so many layers of colors. Now I am convinced that I need all of the Oxides and I need them SOON! Beautiful! Hugs, Marzena
Fabulous card with all the layers of ink! thank you for the tutorial. what did you do with the stencil? Was it embossed? did you use paste/gesso for the resist? It looks great to see the subtle pattern in the background. i'm lifting this idea for sure.
Thanks so much! I embossed with the stencil. No, I didn't use anything as a resist, because of the embossing the Oxide Inks pooled up the debossed areas. I guess if I didn't add as much layers as I did, the embossing would even be more visible :).
Wow! This is really gorgeous! The background is amazing and I love how you used the city die. I also thought it was such a clever technique to add the white touches to the black letters.
Prachtig Sandra, heel mooi.
Lieve groet, Petra
