Birthday Hugs card with video tutorial
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Happy Birthday to SSS Monday Challenge". It's our 7th birthday!

We would like you to create something to help with our birthday celebration! It could be a card, a tag to attach to a gift, a gift or maybe a birthday banner or cake topper! Whatever you decide to make we will be looking forward to seeing how you join us for the party!
As it is the first Monday of the month, as as it is our birthday, we are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp Products!

A birthday wouldn’t be the same without extra gifts so for this challenge we will be giving away not one but 2 X $50 vouchers to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

For this special birthday of our challenge blog I made a card. I started with Peacock Feathers, Twisted Lemon and Black Soot Distress Oxide. I wanted to create a mountain-like background. And with all the layers of these colors I think it kind of looks like them even with a few trees on top in the back (well that's what I see ... haha). It's so cool that you can add layers and layers with the Distress Oxides. If you've used a lot of Black Soot, it's harder to add lighter colors on top. Yet it gives a very beautiful muted effect.

The Simon Says Stamp Big Hugs die I've used in combination with Bazzill Kraft cardstock. With Ground Espresso Distress Ink I gave it a little more depth. Because this is a birthday party, there needs to be some sparkle. So I've applied some glitter with the Wink or Stella Clear Glitter Brush.

To join in all you need to do is make a project that fits this weeks challenge and you can be the winner of one of the two $50 gift vouchers that our amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp offers for our birthday! These prizes will go to a random entry. So go over to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog, let the DT members inspire you and join in the fun!
You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.

Follow Simon Says Stamp on Instagram
If you use instagram add #sssmchallenge to your challenge entry uploads so we can see them on there too!

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

I love this - there's a sense of drama and occasion, and the use of white space gives it such a strong visual impact. Brilliant!
