Hot Air Balloon Birthday card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Transport it".

How cool would it be if I had a hot air balloon as a means of transport. I've never had the pleasure to been in one before, but would definitely want to experience it once. For now I've got to do it with the stamp from the Remnants set. As far as I'm concerned, it's a classic. But first I started with the background of the card. With various colors of Distress Oxides I started building up the background. After all the layers were dry, I started applying interest with diferent stamps and Distress Oxides and SSS Intense Black Ink.


 

Then it was time for the hot air balloon. I stamped this on the background and on a separate piece of Heavystock. I colored the balloon with Distress Oxide and a water brush. The Oxides blend nicely with each other and the effect of the ink is also amazing. After I cut out the balloon and made the edges black with a marker, I glued it over the stamped version with SSS Craft Tacky Glue. Along the edges I applied a black water color pencil and spread it with a water brush to give it a nice shadow effect.
