Hi everyone,
It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Party Time".
The end of December is the time to make the annual invitation for my birthday. I was in the mood a bit more colorful one than the last cards I made, it's way more bright. First I applied a layer of Clear Gesso and then added some texture with the Texture Paste and the Ornate Lace stencil. When it was dry I started applying color. First subtle colors with Opal Magic Paint Rose Gold and Yelllow Pink, and then brighter colors with Infusions and Nuvo Shimmer Powders.
Building the layers takes time. And because I used Clear Gesso, the powders can't soak into the paper, and it reacts very well with water and also mixes like crazy. Sometimes it mixes too well and it becomes one solid color, but it is very forgiving. I used washi tape again, that's been a while ago and I used the Big Brush as well as Distress Crayon, because it dries up permanently, but it was a challenge to apply it the way I want, but pratice makes perfect ;).
