Picture Purple Halloween card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Add a Photo".

As promised another Halloween card, and this time a purple one. I'm not really into purple, but it's one of the Halloween colors, so why not go for it ;). I started with collaging the background. First I used Halloween Collage Paper, a page from an old book, washi tape and die cuts. Over all of this I applied a layer of White Gesso and a layer of Clear Gesso, and drying it with a heat tool creates some amazing bubbles.

As the main color I used Metallique Paint Plum Preserves, mixing it with water turns it into a different color, but after applying some extra layers and using black paint you get that dramatic effect around the bubbly texture. I gave the Halloween Paper Doll a purple dress and bow with Distress Crayon Seedless Preserves. I've noticed that when I dry crayon with the heat tool that it comes off less easily and it does not feel so "greasy" anymore. It still reacts with water but it's more dry to the touch.
