Enjoy

Hi everyone,

It's all been very busy the past few weeks, and today is the feast of my parents. I am a bit nervous. Especially if I didn't forgot something! LOL.

It's been a while since I've played with my Copic Markers. And the week I got super cute stamps from The Greeting Farm, so a great time play woth them again. I was a bit rusty in the beginning, but soon I got the hang of it back. Unfortunately I do not have exactly the right colors of the pattern paper. In real life the colors match a lot more than in the picture. Need to learn to Photoshop!

With this card, I participate with Simon Says Stamp and Show. The challenge is to use your favourite word. I chose the word "Enjoy". Because life is about enjoying every single moment.

The Copic markers I used:

  • Skin: E00, E11, E21, R20
  • Hair: E51, E53, E37, E57
  • Clothing: R32, R35, R37, G21, YG63, YG67

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

CC2 #2: Butterfly Faux Patina

Hi everyone,

In these super busy days, I almost haven't any time to join any challenges. But I made some time to participate in Compendium of Curiosities and Our Creative Corner. I had to make a card for my parents and these challenges gave me the opportunity to join in. I kept the card very simple and I think that's why I love it.

For CC the challenge is to use the Faux Patina technique. I deeply enjoy all the techniques that are in Tim's new book!
And for OCC the challenge is to use butterflies. Butterflies are my favorite insects. Most are so colorful and cheerful as they flutter around. They remind me of spring and warm summer days. Can't wait till the skies and flowers are full with those lovely creatures!

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Sandra

Thank you cards

Hi everyone,

Pfff it's a very busy time now. In just a few days is the party for my parents. Today I went to the venue for the last time before the party and we've spoken about the final details. And I also finalized the thank you cards. On the way home I picked up this cute basket and 9 boxes of Merci .... LOL.

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Invitation to (your own) surprise party...

Hi everyone,

It was bugging me that my parents would be caught off guard with the surprise party. If you do not know what I'm talking about, see this post. My sister wasn't feeling the idea of putting our parents on the spot. And that kept me thinking. Yesterday I was talking with my friend Ellen and she came with a very good idea. She said why not just send your parents an invitation too. And that got me thinking some more and I came to the conclusion to send them an invitation saying that I planned something for them, but not telling them what. So it's still a surprise. Then they could dress up and prepair themselves for a fun afternoon. And thereby they can let it all sink in, and they don't have to respond right away.
Here is the invitation I'm going to send to my parents. Next Sunday is the party. And I'm entering
this card to Papertake Weekly Challenge, Simon Says Stamp and Show and Frilly and Funkie.

For Papertake Weekly we had to do some stitches, for SSS&S anything goes and for F&F we had to re-use 2 things, and the flowers are made from two re-used things. A page of an old dictionary which is adhered to the packaging of some frozen fish dish.

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Compendium of Curiosities 2 #1

Hi everyone,

Grungy Monday is on hold for a while, at least I think so, and now it's time for Compendium of Curiosities Part 2 challenge over at Studio L3. I've only been paper crafting since last summer, and didn't had the chance to participate in the first variant of this great challenge. I've purchased the books several weeks ago and they're amazing books. I'm very happy that some of the techniques also have been discussed in CC101, because now I have a lot more info about those techniques! Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring the first challenge!

My first attempt wasn't that beautiful. So I made another one. Take two.... When I tried to clean the foam and played with it a little, I got the idea to use the light version. Meanwhile I had stuck the foam stamps on a piece of paper and stamped with the piece of paper behind it, and it worked perfectly. With your fingers you can decide how much pressure you want to give and that way you can create more faded areas.
Love experimenting!

The World of Reality

Hi everyone,

It's time for another tag! Love using tags. I've learned so much from CC101. And with Simon Says Stamp and Show  the challenge is to do a Tim technique, and of course I'm gonna use a tag for this challenge! I chose my favorite and that is the spritz and flick technique. And for the Frilly and Funkie challenge I had to use a sentiment as a focal point. Maybe the airplane stole a bit of thunder...

Yesterday I received a package in the mail! A gift from Tim Holtz! I recently won a prize with the 12 tags or 2012 for the month of March and I've won a beautiful stamp set! Of course I had to use it right away! Thanks again Tim and Mario!

I have been experimenting  a little with the perfect pearls. I have used two colors together and I think gives it a really nice effect!

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Happy Easter

Hi everyone,

Today I made my first Easter card ever. Maybe I did it before when I was little and still in grade school or something. I kept it very simple this time. The doily die cut I got from Sandy when we did an exchange of die cuts, thanks again Sandy! Hopefully you have a lovely Easter in any form whatsoever. Unfortunately it isn't nice weather out here in the Netherlands, but I had a lovely dinner with my parents. So that was very nice!

With this card I participate with Our Creative Corner.

Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!

Sandra
