Butterfly Easter card with video tutorial

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Easter/Spring Inspired".

The weather is getting softer and Spring is almost here! A perfect time to make something Easter / Spring related. I've made a card that consists entirely out of butterflies. I started to cut out butterflies with the Butterfly Frenzy and the Simon Says Stamp Petite Butterflies dies.

  

I sort of stacked the Butterflies on top of each other as a collage. After all the collaging I've applied a first layer of color with Infusions and Mod Podge. Then some more color with Distress Oxide and on top of that more color with Infusions. That combination gives such a beautiful effect.

  

I made the butterfly the Layered Butterfly (thanks, Cathie!) a bit in the Easter colors. Mainly yellow with a little pink so that it fitted nicely with the background. To give the background more depth, I also applied a layer of Nuvo Mousse Pure Platinum.

Whatever the Weather card with video tutorial

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Whatever the Weather". We're also showcasing Tim Holtz Products! Join in!

We have had really all kind of weather this last week, from very cold, sunny and dry weather, to snow and warm weather with rain.
I started with 3 different colors Nuvo Mousse to start giving the background a first layer of color. I used a Tim Holtz stamp (from the Sideshow set, thanks, Barbara!) that was stamped on Tissue Wrap. I applied it with Mod Podge so that it becomes part of the background.

 

Next I played with Infusions and Mod Podge to give it even more color, and this time added purple and green. After that I added more intense layer with color by applying Distress Oxide with Infusions. To add some texture I used the Degrade De Points stencil with Texture Paste, Black Soot Distress Paint and Nuvo Mousse Old Navy. To make it a little lighter I doodled a bit with a white Gelly Roll pen and a Sharpie.
