Hi everyone,
It's time for a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about Nautical Nonsense. From the sea and the beach to mermaids and pirates. And everything in between. Can't wait to see your projects.
This card I made for my best (guy) friend's girlfriend. Ohh what an great age, 26! Wish I was still 26..., but anyway back to business. This week I was especially inspired by the nautical colors. Navy blue, red and white. But also wanted to give it a little bit of a sea theme. The Grungy Silhouette of Dina Wakley with the big bubble around the head is perfect for that. The wooden Burnished Circles by Studio Calico are so pretty, love the dark kind and the anchor one goes with the theme very well.
For this card I did some techniques I normally do in my artjournal. As as stamping with stencils and stamping with paint. Especially stamping with paint is a favorite of mine. I say this every time, but I'm so glad I've learned this technique. I took me a while... It gives such a nice effect.
Cork is hot right now, and these corks Arrows stickers from Studio Calico are stunning. They are very delicate, so when applying them be careful.
To join in all you need to do is make a project that fits this weeks challenge and you can be the winner of the $50 gift voucher that our amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp offers. This prize will go to a random entry. So go over to the Stamp and Show Monday Challenge blog, let the DT members inspire you and join in the fun!
Thank you for stopping by! Love to see you next time!
Hugs,
Sandra

The red and navy makes for such vivid accents to the white background!!! Wow! Love the mixture of fabric, paper, cork (great idea for a nautical theme), paint, ink, rope ... it all coordinates together so well. I love this creation Sandra! Awesome birthday card.-- Mary Elizabeth

This work is fab!!!! Great combo color! barbarayaya
Artsy FUN!!! Love the colors and all the stencils!
You have such a skill at making everything look so...cool! Every time-- I think, "wow. That totally could've gone cheesy (like using a primary color combo). But I do believe that you can pull ANYTHING off because everything you make is so sophisticated. Cheesy is just not in your vocabulary and it's always a joy to see how you make classy stuff from elements that could otherwise go awry!
I just love the way you do backgrounds, Sandra! They jump off the page!! Cool adds of texture with the cork & twine :)
