Heavy Metal Halloween card

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Heavy Metal".


Halloween is what is on my mind at the moment. And this week in combination with Heavy Metal. Not the music (which I used to love), but the material. I've done this "look" a few times before, but every time with another technique to create the metal effect. For this card I've made a collage with all different sorts of washi tape, like in width and structure. I've painted them all black with Black Soot Distress Paint.

 

After the paint was dry, I added some extra texture by applying the kraft circles and droplets in a line. I've also painted these blacks. Then I started working with various Metallique and Opal Magic wax. If you've made a mistake or example by applying too much wax, you can easily cover it up by applying a bit of black paint and if it is dry, you do a new attempt with the wax. And the waxes smell so nice! Very sweet, love to work with those waxes on projects.

Shimmer and Shine Halloween card with video tutorial

Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Shimmer and Shine".



Yes, it's time for the first Halloween card of the season. I keep repeating it every year, but it's true, Halloween is my favorite season because I love the spooky and creepy very much. I went for an orange background that is made with Distress Oxide and Distress Ink. With different stencils I made as much depth as possible to the background.

 

To add shimmer and shine to the project, I made a spray of Nuvo Mousse Pure Platinum, but also applied it to the Raven die and applied it also on the circles with a water brush. To add more shimmer and shine I've used Martha Stewart Gunmetal Metallic paint in combination with Texture Paste and also the Raven got a basic layer of the Gunmetal paint.
The most shinny I've added is the foil cardstock behind the "Happy" and I finished it with some Wink or Stella Glitter brush for the shimmer.
