In the Stars card with video tutorial

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "It's in the Stars".

For this card I went for an outerspace theme. A pinkish galaxy with an alien-like sign that could also represent a planet. I totally leave that up to your own imagination. I started with Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. Then I added Black Soot Distress Oxide to start the galaxy feel. The black in combination with the pink gives a dark purple color. What fits perfectly for the outerspace theme. To add some additional color I've used Are You Cerise Infusions.

The stars are made with Nuvo Mousse, this is my first time using this product, and it's so versatile. Texture paste works best for me with a plastic card, but I guess the mousse works better with a spatula. It also didn't help that the surface wasn't completely flat. The alien sign, well, that's what I see in it ... is the Triplex cutter template of Seth Apter. I also distressed it with Nuvo Mousse and with Bronze Age Metallique Wax. I adhered a sheet of vellum behind it so it stands out more and it makes it also look more like a planet.
