Summer Fun card with video tutorial
Hi everyone,

It's Monday and that means a new Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! This week it's all about "Summer Fun".

It's summer indeed, also here in the Netherlands. The temperatures are very high! Almost tropical and that was the best inspiration for my card. I started with masking the Heavystock with post-it tape. After that I stamped with Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade and the Simon Says Stamp Reverse Polka Dot Stamp. To keep the dots visible, I used MicroGlaze that works like a resist.

I added more color with Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry. It needed some extra pink, so I used extra Picked Raspberry. By drying it with the heat tool the MicroGlaze goes further into the paper and the resist doesn't work as well anymore, but that just gives  it a cool effect.

The flamingo die is from the Simon Says Stamp July Card kit. The legs and the beak got some glitter with the Wink or Stella Clear Glitter Brush. To give it a tropical touch, I used the flowers and leaves from the Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush stamp set. With as the finishing touch, two butterflies of the Botanical Ephemera pack.

To join in all you need to do is make a project that fits this weeks challenge and you can be the winner of the $50 gift voucher that our amazing sponsor Simon Says Stamp offers. Love this. The background stamp looks really cool! I knew you'd use it in a pretty way! And I haven't expected the black flower and leaves could look so GREAT! I would never stamp them in black, what a pity, right? I always learn something creative from your projects! And those drops....... Hugs, Marzena
